It has been reported to us that ICE has been notified.

Bedford Hills, N.Y. ‐ The Bedford Police Department reports the arrest of Fidel Angel Cardona (date of birth: 7/25/1986). On December 6, 2012, Bedford Police received a report that Cardona had unlawfully entered the residence of his ex‐girlfriend, in the hamlet of Katonah, where her 16‐year old daughter was home and asleep in bed. Cardona then committed a lewd sexual act, which awoke the sleeping girl. He then fled the scene. A warrant for Cardona’s arrest was issued on January 23, 2013. Since that time, the detective bureau has worked diligently to locate Cardona. In late 2016, Bedford Police Detective Joe Comunale, with the assistance of the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office Intelligence Center, was able to track Cardona down using social media to a location in Virginia. Detective Comunale worked with the Westchester County Police Fugitive Task Force, as well as the U.S. Marshals Service, to apprehend Cardona. It was then discovered Cardona had moved to South Carolina, where he was located and taken into custody. Cardona was held in South Carolina pending extradition. On March 17, 2017, Cardona was indicted by a Westchester County Grand Jury, after which he waived extradition. Cardona was transported from South Carolina to New York by the Westchester County Police Fugitive Task Force and the U.S. Marshals Service. He was processed at Bedford Police Headquarters on March 30, 2017, and is currently being held at the Westchester County Jail.

Charges include: burglary in the second degree, sexual abuse in the third degree, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal contempt in the second degree.
