I agree wholeheartedly with the thoughts expressed by Exasperated Parent, particularly that Dr. Manno need to step up to the plate with regard to academic rigor and standards throughout the grade levels for the betterment of all students. Though for the most part I’ve been cautiously optimistic about Dr. Manno’s performance with BCSD, I’m beginning to have doubts, particularly with his emphasis on technology and “gadgets” over student curriculum and standards. The expensive plasma TV in his office, purchased upon his arrival just after numerous staff were excessed, is enough to give one pause and wonder if there’s a hidden agenda, like others have had in the past. I certainly hope not, but history unfortunately has a tendency to repeat itself.
